Story behind the song
I was working with someone that was getting so frazzled and overloaded as a minister, and the Lord gave me this verse for her. It has been published as a poem, but this is the first time it has been put to music.

DO THE ETERNAL THINGS FIRST
Lord, in the morning, as I plan my day
Searching for more time and a sure way
To get it all done the best that I can
And doing the things that I have planned
Gently remind me if I should stray
When I’m too wrapped up in having my way
