Just guitar and voice. The vocal part really brings out how great this dense guitar line is.

Sometimes I just feel like writing a 'protest song'. This isn't meant to deal with anything in particular, just to capture a feeling of futility and resignation. I really like the idea that the chorus could be from a love song when the whole lyric deals with something ele entirely.
And it seems like every time that we think we found the answer
The testing shows prolonged exposure causes cancer
They couldn’t hear us cause the money talked too loud
I hope I’m never just a face in that crowd
(and they say)
I’m sorry
It didn’t used to be this way
I’m sorry
We can’t go back to yesterday
Battle scenes in magazines with ads for Absolut
They stall and watch it all and others follow suit
Your mother told you there’d be days like these before
Now there’s no reason they can’t happen anymore
(so they say)
I’m sorry
For the things I’ve done to you
I’m sorry
It’s my fault, but it’s your fault, too
Never wanted to be cynical, never thought about it much
But saying you’re connected is a sign you’re losing touch
Nobody thinks that they’ll become what they abhorred
And I’m never angry, I just get a little bored
(when they say)
I’m sorry
It didn’t used to be this way
I’m sorry
We can’t go back to yesterday
I’m sorry
For the things I’ve done to you
I’m sorry
It’s my fault, but it’s your fault, too
