This is a driving Joe Satrian-ish work-out and features the Aegli hydrofoil that runs between the lovely Greek island of Symi and Rhodes. I am trying (and I hope you agree succeeding!) to capture the energy and power of her being.

Check out www.the-pleasuredome.com for the full low-down, but............... I am a 48 year old musician currently residing in Linlithgow Bridge, West Lothian, Scotland having been born in Kirkcaldy, Fife on October 3rd 1956. My primary instrument is guitar, on which I am self-taught, and which I have played for 35 years, having been originally taught the trumpet at school. I previously gigged around Scotland as a solo performer (guitar/vocals) where I performed a selection of covers, alongside a substantial amount of self penned original material. I also toured Europe on two occasions, having played in Holland, Denmark and Greece, and have had my compositions played on both local radio (Radio Forth, Radio Borders, Scot FM and Central FM) as well as national radio (Radio 1 on The Friday Rock Show!) and played support to ASWAD - (remember them!?)

Story behind the song
This song is trying to capture the sheer power and unbridled energy of the ANES shipping line's fastest vessel, that regularly journeys between Symi and Rhodes, the hydrofoil Aegli. My wife and my chariot on many occasions, she's not the most personal way to arrive on Symi, but certainly the fastest! I am assured by Frank (from Taxiarchis Apartments our usual home on holiday) that the hydrofoil was originally a Russian design, although I thought they were of Greek origin! The guitar style is very Joe Satriani-ish but maybe around a tenth as talented! Incidentally my strat was signed by Joe in 1993 at the Edinburgh Playhouse gig!
Lyrics
the ropes are on, the engines started we set sail once again for you as the crow flies, or hugging turkey's coastline wind and waves will guide the story through AEGLI - with her speed and with her vigour AEGLI - she speed us on into your arms AEGLI - as her wings fly underwater AEGLI - to re-unite us with your charms round the headland, once again we see her won't be long now, soon to stand again on our life, our isle of wonder all aboard our charging express train AEGLI - she cuts her way ever onwards AEGLI - It takes a brave one to stand in her way AEGLI - our thoroughbred, well-groomed, trusty charger AEGLI - with her tail awash in Aegean spray to the right is Nimos, ahead the bell tower us we cut through Oceanis' wake cometh the isle, cometh the hour to refresh the old and new dreams make AEGLI - as her bow drops into the shallows AEGLI - as to the key side again becomes one AEGLI - to take the steps and depart her shadows AEGLI - reunite with friends in the morning sun
