This is a song written by my friend and collaborator Nathan Goldman that we got together and rocked the palace down with.
It's an inside joke, basically. I had made an album cover for him with a clown on it, and he said it was looking to his soul. And it went from there.
A boy named Jimmy,
Once lived next door,
Jimmy was normal,
But he ain't no more,
Jimmy ran home,
With a buck fitty-eight,
Sold his soul,
To the Cirque de Solei!
CLOWNS, THEY AIN'T GOT NO SOUL,
Just glowing red eyes,
And glowing red nose,
CLOWNS, THEY AIN'T GOT NO SOUL,
Just ties made of candy,
And hearts made of COAL!
Now Jimmy does shows, yeah,
He honks and he twirls,
Hisses and giggles,
For dukes and for earls.
Jimmy learned a lesson,
and he learned it well,
clowns may have fun,
BUT THEY ALL GO TO HELL!
