This track can be taken two very different ways. I was writing it as an upbeat song about overcoming anything but it also can be the final thoughts at the point of giving up completely. Make of it what you will. The original track I wrote was completely different lyrically. It was very dark and angry. The choruses was similar and I liked the melody. The words used in this version were meant to be a second version of this track (so there would have been two on the album) but the original never really came to be, outside of a basic melody and scratch vocal.
Lyrics
Their convictions can't hurt us now
In the shadows of their world
Invisible to the life we should have had
Accusations won't disappear
The way we will into the end
When all is said and done we're gone
It doesn't matter
It never mattered much
Now everything works out
We can forget what this nightmare was all about
What a bitter time to be
So aware of our misery
When I can't be without you
Well I need something and you need something too
No matter how much it takes
Our hearts know they can never break
It doesn't matter
It never mattered much
How everything works out
It's a past life we can do without
What a precious time to be
So aware of our victory
And I can't be without you
We'll remain oblivious to them
No matter how much it takes
Our hearts know they can never never break
It doesn't matter
It never mattered much
So everything works out
Because we'll work it out
