Thompson), L. (A. Thompson) and Joey Bunns (S. Thompson). With their roots firmly planted in the Mississippi Delta, these three soaked up the rich musical flavor of rhythm and blues that abounded throughout their birthplace, Clarksdale, Mississippi. The seed of hip-hop began to germinate within them after they reached their current place of residence, Crystal Springs, Mississippi. The sounds of rap artists of the early nineties such as Too Short, Rakim, Ice Cube, and Scarface heightened their interest in hip-hop and opened the door to the path on which they currently walk. For nearly eleven years The Threat has been perfecting their trade, and the fruits of their labor are evident in their music. Boasting a style that is a far cry from what traditionally has been known to come from the Dirty South, their southern-fried accent highlights their ability to deliver words in a way that hasn’t been heard in a long time.
