Heart beat from a heartache
© Anthony Thaxton & Dan Fenstermacher
She walks in to find a note on her desk,
and the first line that she reads is,
I need space, and I hope you understand,
Her heart knows what’s coming next,
As the sorrow builds into tears,
since we still work together, baby
can we still be friends?
Her heart races,
double time,
every second,
takes it toll,
tick-tock,
it wont stop,
emotions on a roll...
She’s a heartbeat from a heartache,
she prepares for the pain,
that she knows will come,
she’s felt it before,
a heartbeat from a heartache,
you'd think by now she would learn
she only wishes that she
Didn’t love him anymore.
She pulls herself together,
or at least the best that she can
tells her boss she’s not feeling well at all,
so she rushes home to be alone,
and when she gets there,
she checks her machine,
no calls all looks like she’s on her own
Her heart races,
double time,
every second,
takes it toll,
tick-tock,
it wont stop,
emotions on a roll...
She’s a heartbeat from a heartache,
she prepares for the pain,
that she knows will come,
she’s felt it before,
a heartbeat from a heartache,
you'd think by now she would learn
she only wishes that she
Didn’t love him anymore.
