Story behind the song
Comments by Jamie Bell: This song was more a writing exercise than anything, really. I tried to think of the most lonely thing known to man, and immediately thought the moon. I mean seriously, we went and visitted it for a tiny speck of its life and then left it high and dry. We're pretty crappy people, if you ask me.
Lyrics
So dark up here all alone I've waited for so long Come find me, there's nothing but black You were here but you left me from behind my back Night fades as I turn and sigh Wonder if I ever cross your mind It's been so long since you've been around here So hard to see when the sky is so clear This is all I've ever had Questioning what it was that I did Now I waste away this way I wait and dread the day Night leaves and as always, I am pushed aside In your mind, but to you I died Let me shatter, a fragile glass sphere I can see from anywhere but here I'm shining, so brightly Silver lining, knit tightly Stars aligning, so rightly I'm pining for night
