"Now I'm Just sittin' on this bar-stool...mindin' my own."
Progressive Alternative Country Rock from Deep in the Heart of Texas.
is a place where the sign reads, "No Boots Required".
Story behind the song
My girl and I were watchin' an episode of COPS, poppin'corn and playin' Scrabble. She repeated the words I was sayin' towards the T.V. as I played the opening riff (I always have a guitar handy). I thought the guy gettin' busted was Cajun. "Naw...just drunk."
Lyrics
THE SHAME OF IT ALL
Now I'm sittin' on this barstool, mindin' my own
Tellin' jokes, crackin' myself up...all the while unbeknownst
Johnny Law's been called up, realizin' my ship’s just been sunk
When he asked me, “is there a problem “? I said' “naw, I'm just drunk ".
While sittin' on this barstool, mindin' my own
Last call, 45 minutes ago, barkeep had picked up the telephone
Now, I hadn’t realized, I thought I was just havin' a good time
Louder than the rest and a lil' obnoxious I guess
The shame of it all is I failed to see, through the hole in my heart, given to me
By my one true love who decided to leave me
This isn’t the way to heal the scars, just too much for the man behind the bar
'Cuz, I'm still in this livin' hell, plus a night in jail
-Solo-
While sittin' on this barstool, mindin' my own
Tellin' jokes, crackin' myself up...all the while unbeknownst
Johnny Law had been called up, realizin' my ship’s just been sunk
When he asked me, “is there a problem “? I said, “naw, I'm just drunk ".
The shame of it all is I failed to see, through the hole in my heart, given to me
By my one true love who decided to leave me
This isn’t the way to heal the scars, just too much for the man behind the bar
'Cuz, I'm still in this livin' hell...
A place I've come to know a lil' too well, plus a night in jail
