Where Parting Is No More
On the night of the eighth of December it is sorrowful to say
That a boat with her crew of seven were lost in Inver Bay
From Inver bar this crew put out, their spirits strong and bright
Not knowing that their death they'd meet upon that very night
The names of those brave fellows I would soon like to give
Whom God in his wonderous dealings gave no longer time to live
But I hope that he in his mercy did hear their drowning cries
And though their bodies came to death, their souls to him did rise
The first was Peter Kennedy his son Patrick taken too
Johnny Gallagher and Charles Keeney both friends of all so true
The handsome Thomas Sweeney the love of his whole town
And the two brave brothers Jemmy and Patrick Brown
In conclusion let us offer our deepest sympathy
To all the sad bereaved ones and for them let us pray
That the Lord for Jesus sake may heal each heart that's broke and tore
And restore to them their loved ones where parting is no more
and restore to them their loved ones where parting is no more
