Story behind the song
David and I wrote the majority of this song one Sunday afternoon. We were just hanging out, David with his guitar and me with my journal. We wanted to write a song that can be taken two ways: 1-As an expression of thanks to God for making us his own, and 2-As an expression of thanks to our ladies for allowing us to be part of their lives. These lyrics actually share my love my wife AND for God. I still can't believe we pulled it off.
Lyrics
I belong to you And I can never run away From the love that you've given me I belong to you You have captured my heart And since then I haven't been the same I belong to you And you're the only one Who could ever call me your own And I belong to you There is nobody else That could ever take your place Chorus: You've given your all to me And I thank you And you've made my life complete And I thank you I belong to you And to nobody else Only you are the owner of my heart And I belong to you And to you alone And now I'm completely whole Chorus Bridge: I can't imagine how my life would be without you I can't imagine how lost I would be I can't see myself living without you I can't describe how much you mean to me (Repeat) Verse 1 Chorus 2x Copyright (C) 2001 Clockwork Music BMI
