Aarion Lee/Tom Vitacco/Greg Babiak...story about Scottish warriors who died in battle in Middle ages # 112 in Metal. Total songs: 101,103 # 54 in Heavy Metal. Total songs: 40,470
Tears was inspired on a recent visit to a battlefield
in Scotland on an overcast day filled with mist and
cool breezes. To my surprise there was nothing more
than a small plaque commemorating the lost battle next
to a drinking fountain. I felt like those who lost
their lives deserved a better memorial than some cheap
metal plate so I wrote the song to honor the men that
parished." Greg Babiak
Brothers can you hear me
I've come from afar
I remember this place so well
Thru the mist, I can't feel where you are
We fought here so long ago
And bled for our king
On this soil by the loch
No trace of our memory
Take me back…
Soaring arrows to take us out
Shields are up, we're standing tall
Thirsty blades, spilling blood
Flying limbs, kill them all
Storming cavalry to run us down
Three hundred strong, the front must hold
Trampling boys break like toys
Splattered brains, truth be told
Battered steel of stained crimson red
The stench of death is now upon thee
Still I fight amongst the horde
But there are just too many
Slashing throats, stabbing hearts
My brethren fall before my eyes
I soon succumbed, the battle lost
They killed the crown, took the prize
Now demons dance on this one time field
Nothing to lose, something I fear
We died in vain, no kings today
My tears are all that remain
My tears are all that remain...
