Lyrics
Been workin' 12 months straight and I don't pay no union dues (there ain't no union) my roof is caving in and my kids ain't got no shoes (sad state) bought myself a lotto ticket cuz I got the end of fiscal year blues (march 31st) Waitin' on the government to pay me what it owes (Lots of Money) well I ain't got no cable so there ain't no TV shows (cable cut off) got a dang ol' call from Health Canada they want a report on cash flows (call it accountability) I'm stuck here doin revisions till that funding comes around and I'm eatin soup and beans till that check..that check comes around my dawg is eatin yellow snow now cuz there ain't a bone, there ain't a bone to be found (not even a bone) Well I ain't slept for 3 days (maybe 6, maybe a week)(a long time) I got 6 meetings on the go (more than that) I got 5 reports to do and 3 conferences to plan I ain't got time for feelin' low (no time at all) and I think about them up there in Ottawa, and Toronto and Mont-real and I wonder what they know (not much) SO I'm tying up them government phone lines till that funding comes around And I'm still out here workin' my tail till that funding comes around cuz there's too much silence out there and there ain't no funding to be found Been workin' 12 months straight (workin like a Dawg) and I don't pay no union dues (there ain't no union) my roof is caving in and my kids ain't got no shoes (cryin' shame) bought myself a lotto ticket cuz I got the end of fiscal year blues *ringing* Hello?
