Story behind the song
Really this song is the second half of "If the Table People Could Talk..." and is the more ambient section. This is another track from the time period where we were lifting titles for songs from Frank Herbert books. If you play Table People directly into this track, they should blend seamlessly. This track features the Alpha-Juno 1 in several capacities: 1) sampled through the Behringer "radio speaker" effect into the Emu ESI-32 as a loop (sequenced via the MMT-8), 2) a sampled kick (more of a heartbeat sound) recorded via the ESI-32 and sequenced with the W-30, 3) sequenced via the MMT-8 as the main "melodic" component with PG-300 for tone coloration and 4) played live using the JX-10 as a controller to utilize the aftertouch functionality. This track also features the signature whooshing of the Korg EA-1 and its delay effects and the acoustic percussion of a Corona bucket being beaten on a basement floor and subsequently run through some wide reverb on the MX-1804x.
