Story behind the song
Two things influenced this song: Primarily, An Episode of Star Trek: The Original Series called "Mirror Mirror" - Depicting an Alternate Universe where the "Federation" is an evil empire... This is the visual setting I wanted to use for this song.
Secondly, some imagery from The Revelation of St. John The Divine, that is particularly graphic.
These two facets cross in my mind like a blood red jewel seeping ruby light through razor sharp facets.
