Story behind the song
Well I was listening to Music for Mallet Instruments, Organ and Voices by Steve Reich. When I started to write it I had no intention that it would be infleunced by Reich. All I had was the big layered chords with the melancholy melodic line in the voicings. Once I started experimenting with grooves, I just got carried away. Most of the relatively simple cycles are present throughout the rhythmic interplay but they all take turns being showcased by layering and time offsets.
