Story behind the song
This song was written for my high school sweetheart. We met in 9th grade and would always talk on the phone for hours. Of all the people in my life, she was my favorite person, so I wrote this song for her. I thought it would be cool to make the singer a girl instead of a guy, because it just sounded better. All the vocals are done by me, a guy, there is no actual girl singer. Of all the songs I have done in my life, I spent more time working on this song than any other and I feel like this song is something that I am truly proud of. I really want to share this song with the world because I think anyone who knows of this song will enjoy it and maybe even relate to it. Cheers!
Lyrics
I remember my 9th grade wish You were always on the top of my list I couldn't wait to call you on the landline I couldn't wait to tell you that you're mine We chat it up until it got late Every moment felt so great You made me laugh, you made smile That's why I had you on speed dial Where are you now? I need you back here by my weather I think that life could be much better With you back on my side I hear your voice deep inside my dream Makes me want to scream Cause I wake and you're gone I remember your face quite well And all the time you made me melt I don't remember all the words you said And that makes me very sad But if you give me another try I'll keep a journal always by my side My favorite year was in 2003 in SD When it was just you and me. Where are you now? I need you back here my weather I think that life could be much better With you back on my side I hear your voice deep inside my dream Makes me want to scream Cause I wake and you're gone You made me laugh, you made me smile The time with you was all worthwhile Why can't you just drop me a line? Or give me a call sometime? I think it would be so fine With you back on my landline. You made me laugh Why can't you just drop me a line? Or give me a call sometime? I think it would be so fine With you back on my landline!
