"Great rock music often starts with a great riff. "Gleam" by Poised for the Worm is driven by several punchy riffs, delivered with a great performance by the band. The guitars have a nicely distorted density and the many quick stops accent the band's interplay. The guitars and vocals are reminiscent of hard rock music from the late seventies, particularly Uriah Heep, Head East, and Triumph. Luckily, great rock is timeless and Poised for the Worm prove that they are poised to deliver the goods. "Gleam" is a rocker, with excellent lyrics, that really gleams, and outshines most of the hard rock of the last several years." --grayotis
I got a big-pipe import
It’s got rectal style
I like to stare at the tailpipe
It makes my life worthwhile
I like to drive through the drive-through
And rev it up real high
Maybe that little french-fry girl
Will beg me for a ride
Not without my car
Her I am
Leaning up against my car
Like a big shining star
Not without my car
I get up in the morning
To polish big chrome wheels
They only cost me four thousand bucks
I got a real good deal
Then I slip on my big-ass pants
And cruise to the donut hole
Crank the boomer stereo
And strike a real good
Pose
Looking in the rear-view mirror
It’s hard not to fall in love
Looks like it’s just another night
Rehearsing with my glove
