Story behind the song
The melody and words for the first line came to me in a dream. I wasn't too sure about the words "Save, Alleluia" at first, but, at the same time I was studying Joel 2, where the kingdom of this world is attacking the kingdom of Christ in the last days, as a well-organized and fearsome force (vs. 4-9), when all of a sudden, they fall prostrate before Christ and He takes all the believers to Heaven and even provides them the wine for a drink offering. The drink offering was an offering of joy and celebration used in worship and was only used after the Israelites entered the Promised Land. So, right after Christ saves His people from the attacking armies at the end of the age, we will be with Him celebrating in Heaven (Save, Alleluia). But the rest of the song mostly talks about what Christ has done for us in His first coming and continues to do for us now through His Spirit.
