Story behind the song
The melody of this song just started forming in my head, so I got out my guitar to try to match the chords that were playing in my head. When I finished, I thought I would try to find a psalm that I could squeeze that melody into. But, after a short time I decided that would be a stretch. So, I tried to quiz God on what message He wanted to say through the song. In verse 1 I thought about the amazing things Jesus has done for us. That is where "Salvation" comes from in the song title. In verse 2 I thought about some of the things the Holy Spirit does for us. Since He is our guide, that verse is represented by the word "Discipleship." The final verse recognizes God's love for us that He wants us to share with others; hence the final word of the title ("Evangelism").
