Story behind the song
my own true story actually,some lyrics from a song about san francisco,combined with other lyrics are in this song,anyways.. on one occasion i walked from the wharf to golden gate park and back its a bit blurry.in particular,a gentlemen with a funny cardboard sign that read:"need hooker!!please help$$!!.so he and i and another guy were all drinkin,went to a cardboard alley to get "the original sign" and take it to the wharf!people were paying him to have there picture taken with him and the sign or just givin him money ,caus we needed beer money!!it was hilarious!"we finally hit the pool at my girlfriends hotel and she took us all to the bar and bought us drinks.of course "i saw the silver man" and other adventures in san francisco inspired some of these lyrics and another lyric i used at the end of the song about prevailing together in the good fight.i also jammed with this little silver guitar on the street with a guy playing a bucket.and met "the preacher"who had just been released from custody.and wandered through the masses at haight.my other song "im lost"is another time there when i gave a guy a pack of smokes just to point me in the right direction,lol,and he did,lol he said i was headed for oakland going the wrong way,headed for hotel at the wharf
