Story behind the song
The 2018 Freihofer's Saratoga Jazz Festival, on June 23 & 24 at SPAC (Saratoga Performing Arts Center - Saratoga Springs, NY), was one of the best in the world! And even rain showers could not stop the excellence of the music, and Jazz lovin' spirit of the
large, active audiences. Dr. Bob was one of those "Groovy Jazz Fans" - attending strictly as a rapt listener/observer - from prime box seats vantage: a Happy 80th Birthday Present from his daughter, Julie, and other family members. Of course, even though JBBQ remains ON HIATUS since July, 2013, there was music inspiration in the rainy air...and so....the concept of JBBQ's COOL JAZZ IN THE RAIN was born. (Plus another song still in development for release later on).
