Story behind the song
Traveling in the South during the 60's gave me a feeling for the music that I was hearing and then when I decided to put it into my music, this is what I came up with.
Lyrics
Its a long hot summer, even sittin' in the shade A Mint Julip memory cools the image my brain has made Truth is hard to come by On this you must agree. A Sage in a fever trance explained it all to me. Love is the spark that ignites the fire and invariably leads to Burning Desire. Now Mr. Smarty Pants, think He knows it all trash talkin' His women and stringin'em along with every call. Now fancy clothes are his trade mark, his come upence is guaranteed. But it's all superficial, nothing to hold onto don't you see. Love is the spark that ignites the fire and invariably leads to Burning Desire. Now being right ain't easy, take your orders from the best use premium quality, leave the garbage for the rest. Now life can pass you by, So you wanna minimize your mistakes remember these words carefully and then do whatever it takes. Love is the spark that ignites the fire and invariably leads to Burning Desire. Love is the spark that ignites the fire and invariably leads to Burning Desire.
