Story behind the song
I decided to make a jazzy-ish arrangement of this classic bluesy tune by Bobby Gentry. It is played by my band Good Karma, featuring Cristina Battani on vocals, Bob Kammerman on Sax, Christophe Meneau on bass, and Winsor Orrick on drums. I borrowed some modern chords from Mcoy Tyner, and took the solo section from the Tom Scott version.
