Story behind the song
I wanted to compose a tune for my son Miles, as I had done for Mark. Miles loved to laugh and play, and I hope the song captures his vivid imagination and playful spirit. I never officially "finished" this tune. All the parts are played by me - including the "horn sections". I made about 5 different versions of this tune in 2009, when Miles was two years old. As I write this he is about to turn 10, and I discovered one version that was better than I remember. It made me laugh out loud - just like Miles does! (note - In 2012 I rewrote this tune for the Miller Creek Middle School 6th grade band. Although much simpler, the spirit was the same and the kids had fun playing it!)
