A song about how bad language and abuse from the media and the politicians, may become common practice if we don't start pushing back!
I was playing around with my new baritone guitar, when I came up with a lick, that sounded like it should be in a song. I recorded it and just for fun started singing: "You keep pushing the limit". I realized that there was a reason why this popped up in my head and I elaborated on the subject in a verse that also introduced a new key to the song.
I used both my baritone and my electric 12-string, as well as a fretless bass for the verse part. For once there are no acoustic guitars present. Very unusual for me :)
You keep pushing the limits!
You keep pushing the limits!
There used to be some kind of decency,
an unwritten law for you and me.
We used to respect each other more,
now we don't give as damn any more.
"Love your brother" - goes down the drain,
replaced by anger and by pain.
Suspicion rules, we are controlled,
we mourn our souls, cause they were sold.
All that we are looking for,
is someone to blame, to hate even more.
All you need is love I say,
but you just laugh and turn away.
You keep pushing the limits!
You keep pushing the limits!
