17 Kangaroos

Seventeen kangaroos were killed
In a deadly hit and run
Trying to get across the street today
To get their toenails done
Seventeen kangaroos were killed
You don't often hear that said
Went out for a breath of air
Now they've all wound up dead
Always be alert, when you're boomerangs in flight
Always look to your left, always look to your right
Seventeen kangaroos were killed
The driver must be blind
Shattered glass and broken hearts
Are all that's left behind
Seventeen kangaroos were killed
Someone needs to pay
A private eye is on the scene
He took the case today
Always be alert, when you're boomerangs in flight
Always look to the left, always look to the right
The private eye stood in the street
With dna in hand
But just before he solved the crime......
He missed out on his man
Just his luck, a cement truck
That weighed a million pounds
Crushed him like a pancake
Now he's 6' in the ground
Always be alert, when you're boomerangs in flight
Always look to the left, always look to the right
Seventeen Kangaroos were killed
And no one seems to care
It happened very far away
It seems a bit unfair
But what if they weren't kangaroos?
Then what would you do?
What if that hit and run attack
Was meant for me and you?
Always be alert, when you're boomerangs in flight
Always look to the left, always look to the right
