Southern Blues
I was going through a bad time and feeling some of friends had tuned their back to me. One afternoon a summer storm hit as I look out the door the small pine trees were bending over from the wind.
When the Storm Came
2011
By Donnie Priest
The trees were bending over, from the storms strong gale
It was pouring down rain, it started to hail
The lighting did strike, thunder roared real loud
Sky was getting darker, like covered by a shroud
(Chorus)
When the storm came, when the storm came
When the storm came, I was alone
When the storm came, when the storm came
When the storm came, you were gone
Well the storm came upon us, it started getting rough
I guess in the end, youd had enough
We all have to live, with decisions weve made
You can stand and fight, or run away
(Chorus)
When the storm came, when the storm came
When the storm came, I was alone
When the storm came, when the storm came
When the storm came, you were gone
(Bridge)
We all hope that sunny days will never end
We never have to look too hard, to find a friend
In the middle of the night, when the storm was bearing down
I looked everywhere, you were not to be found
I know it is coming, the sun going to shine
Ill pick up the pieces; Ill claim what is mine
I always thought, it would be you and me
I guess the future, is not ours to see
(Chorus)
When the storm came, when the storm came
When the storm came I was alone
When the storm came, when the storm came
When the storm came, you were gone
When the storm came, I was alone
When the storm came, you were gone
