my first multi-track! wut wut! you can definitely hear my hands cramping picking the guitar, I will experiment more with the noise level as well!
I wrote this song after the loss of a very dear friend during Christmas of 2012. It's a little dark but reflective of what I was feeling at the moment. The exterior face of human beings never truly reflect their interior, and any effort to understand other's interiors is futile at best.
Golden Girl, the Lucky One
prettiest in all the land
grew up on a silver spoon
they found her hanging from a noose.
"she never hurt, she never sinned"
said the preacher to the crowd
they laid the roses by her hair
nobody heard her silent tears
oh but, she was already numb
why, there's no use to being glum, now
time has been drifting all along
time has been wasting
seventeen, he had the world
put a bullet through his head
didn't know what he's living for
why not paint the pillows red?
they looked on and shook their heads
said the boy didn't know his worth
moma threw the ashes in the sea
maybe out there, he'll rest in peace
oh but, he was already numb
why, there's no use to being glum, now
time has been drifting all along
time has been wasting.
