Story behind the song
This song began as a sound experiment. I was always amazed at some of the recordings made by the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix, where they used backwards instruments in the recordings. I decided to do that with this song. I just figured out how the guitar parts and drum machine parts would sound backwards when I played them backwards and then flipped them to be forwards, if that makes any sense! Well, anyway, the effect is very psychedelic in sound, especially the guitars. Then I just knew the lyrics had to be about a dream.
