A song describing the pain of losing a loved one, and holding onto their memory, seeing them only with their heart. It reminds us to treasure our time with loved ones and love them now!
The song was inspired at a celebration of life for a young man in our community who tragically passed away. It was triggered by the statement "I can't see you with my eyes open anymore, but I can see you with my heart", which was made by a close friend of his. It's also a reminder to cherish our loved ones, and make the most of our time together, as we don't know how much time we have.
See You With My Heart
1. Too soon, you were taken from us
So much left undone and left unsaid
How I long, once again to hold you
But I'm holding on to memories instead
Ch. And I can't see you, with my eyes open anymore
I can't watch you, come walking through the door
But I can picture, the smile upon your face
When I close my eyes, I feel your embrace
And I can see you, see you with my heart
2. I dream of times we spent together
Precious moments I'm so thankful for
How I wish, you were still here with us
To share in our lives just like you did before
Bri. I'll say the words I need to say, and love with all my heart
'Cause we don't know how long that we're here for
We can't go back to yesterday, but the lesson that I've learned
Is not to take our time for granted anymore
