Gimme Some Lovin' With Some Rhythm & Blues

If I could ever get a band together again, this is probably what we'd sound like. This is a 'mock' live recording which hopefully recreates the 'feel' of a live gig. Turn it up to 11, get a drink but mind you don't spill it over my pedal-board !

Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song
Another tune that's perfect for, 'When Pirates Ruled The Airwaves', album. The "oh yeah" vocals bits on this recording are by none other than my best mate, musical collaborator and Big Sleep lyric genius Tony Webster. Nice one Tony.

Hi David, Sorry took me awhile to come around. Yes definitely live feel to it. All the instruments sound very good. Like the organ. Some cooking bass. I love the sound but not sure what year this was live. Sounding like 1969 to me. Which is a good thing to my ears!

Whoops . . . lighting in here is terrible. I'm sure that brew will put another z on your fuzz-box tho! Great guitar tone. I used to play in a band with a Hammond player. Fantastic sound though it took six people to lift the damn thing.

Cool bouncy backbeat and crisp guitars with a rockin' organ tone so reminiscent of the early Kinks, this is a superb time capsule of the 60's in their all their rocking glory

Nice live feeling to this. Great sounding guitar and organ. Nice retro feel to the "Oh yeah's". I also like the walking bass on the chorus very much. You really do create a live feeling and this could easily have been played in some "beat-club" back in the 1960's. Great stuff! And you had me fooled with that ending, sounds like a new song is starting, but oh, no more. Too bad, it sounds great :)

Excellent production, a very smooth and professional sound. Great job on the guitar and organ. Love the sound of the bass and drums - definitely a "live" feel to this one.

Hi David, of course I can spare a minute ( or more!) to listen to your great music!! :D :D Oh yeah....oh yeah.... exactely, a very good "live" record you made, and as Al wrote you recreated the "Live" resonance, absolutely true!! What a vivid drum&bass section, great "twangs" coming from the rythm guitar, the cool hammond and those 60´s "oh yeah´s" from the vocalists.... WOW! David I had so much fun listening to, believe me, I danced on my chair to the rythm! Enjoyed also the little fine guitar riffs in interplay with the organ (2:32 & 2:41). This is a very nice work, really nice!!! Well done!!:) :) So pristine production, exquisite mix and arrangement David!! PS: I thought it would go further at 4:15 but..... hey.....is this all?? ;) ;) more....!!

Super Hammond organ sounds….You certainly (authentically) recreated the “Live” resonance. I felt like I was there in the house enjoying the music….Great song and superb production… Enjoyed!!!
