Story behind the song
After writing Arctic Emergency NASA announced that Antarctica is also in deep trouble as several large ice sheets are irreverably doomed. I wrote this "Lament" to our huge stabilizing force down under... it makes me cry. Recently I got Albion and applied my budding orchestral attempts to emotionalize this song.

The Antarctic ice mountains are headed to sea
Oceans 20 feet higher where most people be
Our fossil fuel companies are killing the land
billions will die and I don't understand
And the Arctic is melting too, sorry to say
if we don't stop them they'll make it that way
And if it all goes away the ocean's will rise
flooding our planet...our total demise...
How can we be letting this happen
Why we don't demand the big change
The sun shines all day up above us
It's so easy we can make the change
we have the means to rearrange (everything...)
No one talks about... it's happened before
300 feet higher the oceans did roar
for millions of years air was toxic to breathe (like venus)

If we stand up and stop this we'll be happy,

sweet windmills and electric cars too
there's so much more we can do... (it's true!)
Instead we are letting them blunder,
