Blues/Rock song I wrote about my past. Sometimes its great to be born on the right side, even if it is the wrong side of the tracks. My good friend Jay Ramsey did the Guitar and Harmonica and I did the rest---Lyrics, Melody and Vocals.
Some people always make opinions predicated on where you live or where you come from. So, I hopefully did come from the Right Side---of the Wrong Side of the Track.
WRONG SIDE OF THE TRACK
It certainly makes a difference,
on that most folks agree.
It’s where you’re born and raised
that will form your pedigree,
You don’t have to lay there sobbin’
Just a cryin’ in your bed
Pick yourself up by your boot straps
like so many people said.
It’s an up-hill road to travel
And you know you won’t go back
You’re Born on the right side
Of the wrong side of the track.
Turn
It’s a “natural fact”,
things just happen, that’a way.
People forming their opinions ,
listenin’ to what other people say.
It ain’t gonna be easy, changing peoples minds
they’re locked into believing
you’re just one of “those kind”.
It’s an up-hill road to travel
And you know you won’t go back
You’re Born On the right side
of the wrong side of the track.
Instrumental
It’s a Simple indication,
People judging by your birth
Where you were born
Doesn’t qualify your worth
Change will overcome
the prejudice of our past
A clean slate for all
Then a New Dream at last
It’s an up-hill road to travel
and you know you won’t go back
You’re Born On the right side
of the wrong side of the track.
(repeat last 4 Lines)
