Starry-Eyed
By Tom Tognaci
She trampled on the moon
As her tears fell in its light
With eyes shadowed in gloom
Oh, how she loathed its lonely sight
But, how many nights did she plead to that ole moon
She lifted her prayers to that gentle face to find her soon
But, he never came..
She knew nothing about love
She was just a lonely girl
Who asked that moon above
To help her find love in this world
Yes, how many nights did she plead to that ole moon
She lifted her prayers to that gentle face to find her soon
But, he never came..
No, he never came
Well, that moon came tumbling down
And proposed upon its knees
But, the star she thought she found
Turned out to be merely cheese
But, how many nights did she plead to that ole moon
She lifted her prayers to that gentle face to find her soon
But, he never came..
No, he never came
No, he never came
