I had this music written and recorded but i was stuck for a lyrical idea.
So I posted it on songcrafters.org to see if anyone wanted to write lyrics and sing on this song. Farrell Jackson from California wrote the words and sang and I think he did a great job, the music is all me and the singing is all him.
Vocals are always the hardest part for me to do, singing is definitely not my strong point, but I do think the organ part and solo came out pretty good, if I do say so myself. :)
Game Face
A sunshine smile, blue eyes and golden locks
Your body's sculpted from the very finest rock
When your head is full of sin
Your world is in a lipstick spin
The golden rules you want to follow
Leave you feeling weak and hollow
Put on your game face like the players do,
I'm sure somebody's waiting there for you.
It's getting hard to hide the lines on your face
What happened to the remnants of your lost faith?
You wonder what you're gonna do
If no one buys a drink for you
Hike up that skirt another inch
Inviting eyes to scratch your itch
Put on your game face like the players do,
I'm sure somebody's waiting there for you.
(organ solo)
The tigress needs some brand new clothes
And that is how your whole life goes
Your just a cougar on the prowl
Next comes the wink and the growl
A young one's straying from the pack
Ready your claws it's time to attack
Put on your game face like the players do,
I'm sure somebody's waiting there for you.
