Story behind the song
It started when Timothy was very young and haunted him his whole life. Dealing with his nagging insecurity his subconscious mind subjected him to flashes of past and visions of future in a dizzying array of patterns. Seeing himself floating, falling, other times soaring inside the spiral. Interpreting his dreams became a daily ritual. Recording his dreams in a journal reasoning them logically on the facing page. He predicted a wife and twins, but there was a hole in the timeline. A dark pattern shrouded in mystery. He was curious, later frustrated, it angered him to see it linger unexplained. One night his wife and children die in an accident. The meaning of the dark vision now evident. Grief stricken he felt betrayed by his dreams and avoided them with drugs and drink. The ocean became a fixture in his life, especially the night beach. On the brink of mental collapse, his compulsive nature, a handicap as depression set in, a social and professional failure. Unable to think, reality blurred and nothing mattered. His life bottomed, a shadow of himself. Homeless, jobless and numb. Salvation came and reclaimed his life. Determined to find wisdom he welcomed the dream of spiral again.
