Story behind the song
This song started as some random lyrics that popped into my head nearly a year and a half ago during a time when my spouse was wanting to adopt an older child from China and I was not. I worked on the lyrics a bit and then put them away as I thought is would be very hypocritical to write a song about something I couldn't do. Well, God can be very persuasive in His own fashion, and I decided this was something I could do. So, I pulled out the scraps of paper in April and worked the song to what you hear today.

Verse 1
I have arrived at that place in life,
Where I dreamed to be someday.
The kids are grown, my time’s my own,
It’s now easy to chart my way.
Verse 2
Can this be what my life was meant to be,
Living within a bubble,
Too occupied to look outside,
At a world full of trouble?
Verse 3
There is this girl, half way around the world,
With no place she can call home.
She’s never had the blessing of,
A loving family of her own.
Looking at her I ask,
God are You calling me to be a father once again?
CHORUS
It’s just one child, what difference would it make,
To bring home just one orphan, is it worth the risks I’ll take?
Someone who cares, with love to share,
Is what she’s longing for.
So do I dare, to make a world of difference to . . .
(So I will dare,)
That one child.
BRIDGE
If I ignore Your call, to give my all,
Just as Jesus did . . . . .
Will that be who I want to see in the mirror looking back at me?
Looking at her I know,
God You are calling me to be a father once again!
CHORUS
So use me Lord, to make a world of difference to . . .
That one child.
