I wrote this as a project to try to capture the sound of a 60s sci-fi comedy. I imagined the town of Mayberry in the mid 60s, just invaded by aliens form outer space and Don Knotts was sent to investigate the landing craft.
Story behind the song
I have always loved the theme music from TV shows and movies of the 60s such as The Twilight Zone, Green Acres, The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, The Munsters, etc. I thought it would be fun to try to write something based on these sounds and try to capture that vibe.
After getting a much better orchestral library for my song writing I decided to re-orchestrate the song with better horn parts, string sounds, xylophone, etc. I learned a lot in the process
