Story behind the song
By now everyone looking at my list of uploaded music must know of my admiration for Jean Michel Jarre's work. Ever since I listened to the Oxygen album for the first time as a 10 year old his music has fascinated me to no end. This is my humble attempt on covering Oxygen VI. Some interesting facts: I usually render my midis with a Yamaha XG synthesizer, this time I ran everything through a Radio Shack MD-1700 home keyboard (spin off from a Casio WK-1630); already had the XG file and had to trim it down to its bare GM basics, once done I recorded the analog output of the MD-1700 with a Edirol portable recorder - the keyboard lacks professional audio outputs... hey, it's a no frills poor man's setup. The resulting WAV file was run through Audacity on my Ubuntu laptop just to normalize the audio level, no processing beyond that. Hope the listeners enjoy it.
