Their Longing Hearts
Words & music by Tom Tognaci
(c)2012
I
She wakes up early morning
She rushes out the door
Thinks of life as a forlorning
Afraid to hope, one day, theres more
As the sun moves past horizon
He pulls himself along
But he feels theres something rising
Like the buildup in a song
Their longing hearts wait for something
Maybe, for the wind to blow
Maybe, for a sign to drop down straight from heaven
A silly notion; yes, I know
II
Shes a lover of all lovers
Shes a romance in the wings
At least, thats how she reads the covers
Of the romance books she clings
He can hear the music rising
And a distant crowds applause
But the dream hes compromising
Again, will have to wait on pause
Their longing hearts wait for something
Maybe, for the wind to blow
Maybe, for a sign to drop down straight from heaven
A silly notion; yes, I know
yes, I know
yes, I know
