The Story behind the song
“Mi Madrecita, (My Loving Mother),” The Secrets of a Loving Mother” These two songs were inspired during a time when our mother; Josephine (Kanaka) Valverde, was going through a period of illnesses, perhaps the early symptoms of dementia. A time when a family begins to experience doubt, fear, division, a questioning of one’s faith and unidentifiable emotions and endless…… stress.
As children, we never were concerned about protection or security; somehow, we knew Dad was the provider and Mom maintained the welfare of the home. As we become adults we gradually began to realize the sacrifices our parents made for us; sacrifices that demonstrate, without words, their unconditional love.
Our hope and prayer is that the listening of these two songs will lead family members to a time of inner healing, in Mom, Dad, and son, daughter relationships; and through the grace of God create a deeper love for our parents.
Mom! We thank you for your selfless unconditional love, the love that keeps us together, a deep love that can only come from God.
Happy Mother’s Day Mom! We Love You!
