Story behind the song
Prior to my wife Lalita’s arrival in my life, Pandit Ajoy Chokraborty and Manna dey were my only sources of knowledge of bangla songs. Lalita introduced me to 2 important artists later : Haimanti Shukla and Shyaml Mitra. While I have sung one song of Haimanti Shula earlier, this is the first one I attempt of Shyamal Mitra. His style of singing is unmistakably polite and surreally romantic. I have tried really hard to imbibe the style of singing and also the pronunciation. Please let me know what you think of it.
BTW, I created the track and sang this without Lalita’s knowledge and presented it as her birthday gift when we were apart :)
