My recording of Silent Night was made on a 4 track cassette tape recorder and started on December 3rd, 1992. On this Mix of Take 1 it is only me playing harmonica and guitar. Later I hope to do a mix with the 2 more voices.
My recording of Silent Night was made on a 4 track cassette tape recorder and started on December 3rd, 1992.
On this Take 1; I played the music 4 times;
I started with a guide strumming guitar track on track 1
On track 2, I played harmonica throughout all 4 times stanzas but the first time I played lousy and I missed a bar at the start of the 4th time so I can chop off. This Mp3 here is spliced so that it is me playing harmonica and guitar the 2nd & 3rd time.
It has been a lot of trouble digitizing this recording and I am sorry this is all you are getting at this time. Later I hope to do a mix with 2 more voices.
Tom Freebusker visited and did a vocal track. I finished the recording around July 29, 1993 when Juliette did another vocal to make it a duet. There were 2 takes done. This was all done in London, Ontario, Canada.
Silent Night
Franz Xaver Gruber, 1818
Words: John Freeman Young, 1863
Silent night, holy night
All is calm all is bright
'Round yon virgin Mother and Child
Holy infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace
Silent night, holy night,
Shepherds quake at the sight.
Glories stream from heaven afar,
Heav'nly hosts sing Alleluia;
Christ the Savior is born
Christ the Savior is born
Silent night, holy night,
Son of God, love's pure light.
Radiant beams from Thy holy face,
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth
