Put together on my first 4-tracker with keyboard generated drum track, a little tasteful harp, and mult-tracked and re-pitched vocals, this song was a lot of fun to do. I hope Brian Wilson approves.

Story behind the song
One of my first recorded songs, and still one of my favorites, "Skater Girl" is a direct tribute to Brian Wilson's "Surfer Girl". Written for my daughter and later adopted by her synchronized figure skating team, The Rosebuds, as sort of an informal theme song. It was frequently played over the home ice PA before leaving and when returning from competition. It was quite a hit with the pre-teen blade runners.
Lyrics
Little skater, little one, lace your skates, go have some fun. Do you love it, do you skater girl? I have watched you on the ice, I know that you skate so nice. Do you love it, do you skater girl? We could do a routine together, on the iced so cool. With my Zamboni I will scrape you- ice that is so smooth. And then when the session's done, you can put your skate guards on. Do you love it, do you skater girl? (hey, go do a double lutze... hey, go get some donuts... don't forget your mittens... ask me for some quarters? I told you before you can't have any more quarters...
