Kansas songwriter Steve Cowell presents his unique styles of pop/rock music and intelligent lyrics.
Hi, I'm Steve Cowell. I'm the leader of the group and I write all the words and music. I also play all the instruments and sing everything, which gets lonely at times, but at least there are few ego clashes and I get along pretty well with the other guys in the band most of the time. We all grew up together and have been playing music together since childhood.

Story behind the song
We've all been through it. It sucks. Sometimes I think I'd rather hear the yelling! :)
Lyrics
SILENT TREATMENT Copyright 2002 by Steve Cowell If I did something wrong, I swear I don't know when But here we go, I get that silent treatment again It doesn't ever last for long or happen very much But when it happens you don't speak or smile, and we don't touch Chorus: This silent treatment hurts; it's so unkind You don't need to explode, just speak your mind Just get it off your chest and have your say So we don't have this tension ruin our day When you get all upset, it's you it hurts the most You never let it out, and so it grows and grows I try to read your thoughts, which I can't seem to do You build a wall around yourself I can't get through REPEAT CHORUS Bridge: You know I didn't mean to hurt you anyway And sometimes I don't mean to use the words I say I'd never dream of hurting you the way some did before If I did, I apologize a thousand times or more You keep it to yourself, and won't try to explain So no one has a chance to try to ease your pain It never gets resolved that way, it just keeps getting worse And no one really knows what's on your mind or on your nerves REPEAT CHORUS TO FADE
