Story behind the song
This song was written in memory of Matthew Bowens and Jennifer Fettig who worked at my precinct and were murdered in cold blood while on a traffic stop on February 16, 2004. I'm sorry but it is not available for downloading - please do not copy - this song is a memorial, not for duplication.
Lyrics
Just open your heart and listen. Let this song inspire you to be kind to just one police officer today. If you live in the state of Michigan, you can contact me for information on how you can support our cause. I know I said it before, but please do not duplicate this song in any way. It is copywritten (2004), and meant only as a memorial. Thanks, Kellie Ann Even the Angels are Blue Written by Kellie Hall (DPD #4) and Don Dupie (RRFD) - special mention to Sean Wayrnen. It keeps playing back in my mind, On and on again - priority 4-5 The silence on the radio, Over and over again, and over it goes This ain't the way it's supposed to be, Nothing left but a memory, The lonliness, I know you're feeling it too... Cuz even tonight, the angels are blue How do we tell them that you're gone? One lost a daughter, the other lost a son The hurt in their hearts, can't be erased If I could, I would gladly take your place But this ain't the way it's supposed to be Nothing left but a memory The lonliness, I know you're feeling it too, Cuz even tonight, the angels are blue
