It was written for a girl I was in love with called Jenny. I don't have any idea what happened to her 'cos her parents broke us up in one way or another. When I first played the song on the cliff at Tenby, a lizard down by my feet, appeared to be listening to it, and on a whim I put my hand down and it crawled on it. So the first fan I had for this song was a little reptile.
I needed someone to be with me
I needed someone to take time to get through
Now I've found that I can share life with you
I won't turn my back on you
When I think of all the times we've spent together
I love you like the wind and sun and sea
Though you are a hundred miles away, my love,
In my mind I've got you here with me
I wished 3 wishes throwing coins to the water
One was for me and one was for you
The other was for us both together
I'm hoping that my wishes all come true
And so some people they have used you
Some people they have used me too
Don't let anyone get you down
For I won't turn my back on you
Don't you turn your back on me
There's no time for talking
Take my hand, together let us be
Into the sun, warmth all around
Barefoot we tread rainbow ground.
