A ballad with catchy chorus
This song is entirely fictitious - about a woman telling her man it's all over and him not able to accept the situation...... This song was inspired by listening to ballads all afternoon and deciding that most of them weren't true and writing my first song which wasn't based on experience. Although it never happened, I still feel all the emotions & heartbreak whenever I sing it and especially so when we recorded it....
At one'o'clock she shows him the door, Goodbyes aren't easy, it's hard to avoid, Hostile words, recriminations, it's Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye At two'o'clock the doorbell rings, It's him again and he starts to sing: I love you, let me come back I miss you, I miss you, I love you Let me come back I miss you At four'o'clock, the doorbell rings, He really, really wants to come in, Explain himself, his visions, his dreams, it's Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye At six'o'clock, the telephone rings, Machine answers, again he sings: I love you, let me come back I miss you, I miss you, I love you Let me come back I miss you At seven'o'clock he's knocking on the door, Have to try to ignore his calls, All his pleas, his demands, once more, it's Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye At ten'o'clock you're watching the news, Man jumps to death left a note that said: I love you, let me come back I miss you, I miss you, I love you Let me come back I miss you I really miss you my darling, I need you And I love you my darling let me come back I LOVE YOU
