It's a song about man's inhumanity to man. The basic music I first starting writing in 1979 but I never got to finishing it for some 20 years later. The keyboard sounds are dated but the song says what I wanted it to.
One of the first twenty songs I wrote as a kid. I had something to say but wasn't quite certain what it was for another two decades. The lyrics are always as important to me as the music and it took me that long to put the two together.
Blood & Water

We’ve got so much to lose
Yeah, it’s all of us
Just what is it we’re fightin’ for
Is this the life that we chose
As we clarify
The lowest form of any animal
Indiscriminant hatred
Of anyone who happen to be in our way
With the rage of the mob rule
The fury builds
We’re saying “yeah, yeah, yeah”…
Detached from the pain
We’ve become aloof
To all the generalities
We’ve got a lack of concern
For the spewing of
Venom ever needlessly
We’re indifferent to hatred
Participants as we promulgate brutality
Paying homage
To man’s inhumanity to man
“Yeah, yeah, yeah”…
And through our war, we are reminded
How fragile we are with each new grave…
[spoken] - (we are all brothers under the skin
and we are all our ‘brothers keeper’
we can ill afford to alienate any soul
because we are all flesh, spirit, blood & water)…
The requiem shows the somber faces
Mourners of those no longer here…
[spoken] - (We are created by One God no matter how we perceive him
to think He would have destroy each other
in any name says that we have become a people
of bankrupt ideals, indifferent to the value of each individual)…
